Standard Bank Namibia has revealed that a number of its clients’ accounts have been hacked.
According to a social media statement issued by the bank on Monday, there were unauthorised debit card transactions on some of its clients’ accounts.
The transactions were from a specific vendor.
“We have detected unauthorised debit card transactions on a limited number of clients from a specific vendor,” said the bank.
The allegations of the bank being hacked started circulating on social media on Sunday evening.
The bank said it is engaging with those whose accounts have been hacked.
“We have engaged those impacted and taken immediate corrective action,” said the bank.
