KHOMAS police crime investigation coordinator deputy commissioner Chrispin Mubebo says an investigation is being conducted into ex-police reservist Valentino Endjala, who was captured on video manhandling his allegedly pregnant girlfriend.
“Outcomes of the investigation will determine if the state will lay charges or not, the charges will be laid as per the Combating of Domestic Violence Act. However, evidence needs to be present that the abuse has been taking place for a specific period of time,” Mubebo says.
This comes after police inspector general Joseph Shikongo confirmed that the victim has not opened a case against Endjala.
Endjala was dismissed from the Namibian Police reserves on Wednesday, after the video went viral earlier in the week.
