The Construction Industries Federation of Namibia (CIF) Golf Classic 2026, takes place on Friday, 24 April at the Windhoek Golf Club, as the event continues to establish itself as a recognised fixture on Namibia’s golfing and corporate calendar.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural tournament, the 2026 edition is already attracting strong support from across the construction sector and wider business community. The event is presented by Hardrock Earthworks as naming rights sponsor, supported by key co-sponsors Ohorongo Cement, City Concrete, Putzmeister, and Build It, alongside a wide range of industry partners.

The CIF Golf Classic brings together contractors, suppliers, and business leaders for a day that combines competitive sport with meaningful networking. The tournament will be played in a Two-Ball Alliance format with a scramble drive and shotgun start, with two scores counting per hole. Each player will be required to contribute a minimum of six drives, ensuring both fairness and team participation.

“The CIF Golf Classic is steadily finding its place as an event that brings the industry together in a more informal but highly valuable setting,” says CIF CEO Bärbel Kirchner.

“We are encouraged by the level of support from sponsors and participants, and we look forward to building on this foundation in the years ahead.”

Johan van Wyk, managing director of Hardrock Earthworks says: “As a company operating at the heart of Namibia’s construction sector, Hardrock Earthworks recognises the importance of platforms that brings Namibia’s business community together. The CIF Golf Classic has quickly established itself as one such platform, and we are proud to support its continued growth as Naming Rights Sponsor.”

Participants will tee off with a shotgun start at 10h30, followed by an evening prize-giving and networking function.

The 2026 tournament offers a strong prize line-up, with prizes for the top 10 teams valued at approximately N$163 000, including a premier golf tour experience in South Africa, luxury getaways, and high-quality golf equipment.

A highlight of the event is the Hole-in-One Challenge, sponsored by WV Manufacturing, offering a prize valued at N$100 000 on Hole 9, adding an exciting competitive edge to the day.

Additional on-course competitions will include Closest-to-the-Pin (sponsored by Pupkewitz Megabuild) and Longest Drive (sponsored by Coastal Hire Windhoek), providing further opportunities for players to compete throughout the course.

Team entries are now open. Registration is set at N$10 000 per team (excluding VAT) and includes one golf cart per team, welcome gifts for all players, and access to the full event programme.

A maximum of 22 teams can be accommodated. To date, 20 teams have already confirmed their participation, and the remaining slots are expected to fill quickly.
