Chan preparations start with training squads

The Brave Warriors are setting in motion preparations for their 2016 Chan qualifiers against Zambia in June as Ricardo Mannetti sets up training matches for three groups of players, starting on Wednesday at Sam Nujoma Stadium.

After learning about their opponents for the 2016 African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifiers early this week, Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti has planned a series of three training groups that he will have for the next three weeks.

On Friday, Mannetti released a Group One training camp that will be followed by other training groups as the technical team plans to find the right players and combinations for the first leg in Windhoek on 20 June.

“These groups of training squads will extend the net and afford us more chances to assess the local players for the Chan qualifiers. It won’t be easy but we are confident the idea will have desired outcomes and help us qualify for Rwanda next year,” said Mannetti.

The Brave Warriors are paired against Zambia and the first leg matches are scheduled for the weekend of 19-21 June with the return leg slated for 3-5 July in Lusaka.

The winner of the Namibia vs Zambia meeting will take on the winner of the Mozambique vs Seychelles preliminary round encounter, for a place at the CVhan finals in Rwanda in 2016.

Players below are expected to report at Football House on Wednesday morning at 08h00, before departing to the Sam Nujoma Stadium for a training match upon which they will be released.
