Capricorn Group pays N$656 million to government, regulators

The Capricorn Group has paid N$656 million to the government and regulators in the last six months.

According to the group’s six months’ results for the year ended 31 December 2024, a total of N$2.9 billion was spent on creating value for its stakeholders.

This includes N$690 million spent on employees, N$656 million paid to the government and regulators and N$321 million for ordinary shareholders.

In addition, suppliers received N$562 million, communities received N$21.2 million while N$645 million has been retained for future expansion.

This expenditure is shared between the group’s operations in Namibia and Botswana.

“Capricorn Group’s positive financial performance over the past six months enabled value creation for all stakeholders, contributing to the socio-economic development of Namibia and Botswana and positively impacting many lives,” says chief executive David Nuyoma.

The company also recorded a profit of N$1.06 billion after tax despite a shrinking profit margin.
