The Capricorn Foundation has made available N$750 000 to support vulnerable communities.
The foundation has committed the funds through its implementation partner, Imago Dei Welfare and Poverty Relief Association.
Some of the projects funded include Hope for Life Foundation, Burgershoek Children Community Project, Grace Welfare Project, Namibia Christian Women Aid Society, and Family of Hope Services.
Capricorn Foundation executive officer Marlize Horn says the foundation is grateful for the partnership with Imago Dei.
“The funds we commit to the beneficiaries are specifically allocated as part of the Capricorn Foundation’s aim to assist vulnerable communities.
“The foundation is dedicated to having a positive impact on the Namibian community and to those who deserve financial assistance the most,” Horn says.
Imago Dei project coordinator Millinda Coffee has expressed the organisation’s gratitude to Capricorn for supporting vulnerable children.
“Imago Dei has had a long-standing relationship with Family of Hope Services since 2009, and we know the project impacts the lives of the children who benefit from their services.
“Imago Dei, through the Capricorn Foundation, provides funding for the purchases of food items and gas bottle refills for the project’s food and nutrition programme,” she says.
The Family of Hope Services operates as a preprimary school, kindergarten, and aftercare centre for 145 children between the ages of 3 and 17 at Havana.
They provide daily meals to 255 children as part of a community feeding programme, and reach approximately 400 children daily.
The Hope for Life Foundation provides counselling, support, and training to individuals facing unplanned pregnancies and recently added temporary care for babies awaiting adoption, while providing mothers and babies with toiletries and clothing.
The foundation also provides business starter packs and mentoring for motivated individuals seeking to improve their lives.
