The 2024 Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project focuses on the lives impacted by the national outreach initiative.

This is according to Cancer Association of Namibia (CAN) chief executive Rolf Hansen, speaking during the launch of the Cancer Apple Project on Wednesday.

“How can we be the difference? We want to share and tell the stories of the people, the lives we have impacted,” Hansen said.

In 2023, Bank Windhoek managing director Baronice Hans said the project had raised N$33 million for the CAN since its inception in 2000.

According to Hansen, the national cancer outreach is vital in raising awareness countrywide.

“We are reinforcing the efforts by the health ministry across the country, empowering our teams to do the good work that they do,” he said.

Hansen noted that CAN aims to raise N$2 million but the association remains grateful for any contributions received.

“We understand that the current economic climate is a challenge for all,” he said.
