Canada’s parliamentary secretary to the minister of foreign affairs this week met with vice president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to discuss collaboration between the two countries.
“This visit serves to reinforce the already strong bilateral relationship between Canada and Namibia,” Rob Oliphant said during the visit.
He said Canada and Namibia share democratic values, and a commitment to equity and inclusion, and environmental protection.
He said the two countries could collaborate in sectors such as renewable energy.
“Canadian companies, especially in mining, are making significant investments. I foresee great opportunities in emerging sectors like renewable energy, and in sharing skills to enable your young population to fully take part in your growing economy,” Oilphant said.
During the visit, he also met with deputy minister of international relations and cooperation Jenelly Matundu.
