Calling all Namibian beauties

Miss Namibia 2023 Jameela Uiras

The annual Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia pageants have officially launched their upcoming 2024 events and the organisers are calling for entries.

Entries opened on 1 December 2023 and will close on 29 February.

Online entry forms are available at or

Fees involve N$500 for entering Miss Namibia and N$400 for Miss Teen Namibia.

Forms are also available at NBC’s regional offices countrywide.

Miss Namibia Organisation chief executive Umbi Karuaihe-Upi says the organisation is looking forward to a few changes.

She says 20 semi-finalists will be selected instead of 30 for both pageants this year.

“From there we will select the top 10 at the preliminaries. We are doing it like this, because we believe it is a more effective way to manage the contestants and to allot them more value for their participation and effort.

“When it comes to the entry process, we don’t have major challenges. Most prefer to enter online,” she says.

Karuaihe-Upi says the public has supported the pageants at an unprecedented level over years, “and therefore we need to maintain the bar set or improve on that”.

She says the organisation wants to ensure that Namibians are happy, and wants to continue to uplift and excite everyone with substantial entertainment, information and pride.

“We can only go higher. We are excited to see our new entrants and eventually crowning the queens,” she says.

Karuaihe-Upi says the pageants saw entrants from all 14 regions of the country last year.

“This was absolutely amazing and a great milestone for us. Our team also endeavours to do activations countrywide, like last year, to go and get our prospective queens from all regions in Namibia,” she says.
