Food lovers are now able to enjoy a delicious fine dining experience in the comfort of their homes, thanks to media maven Niclas Dossantos’ latest version of the pop-up food fest known as ‘Cafe Nikolas’.
At the last event, held at Am Weinberg, guests paid a fee to participate in the tasting experience and revel in the different flavours Dossantos carefully curated.
This time around, you can order from his weekend menu and have high-end meals delivered to your door three days a week.
“The focus is on fine dining and really cool pairings, with wine or their favourite beverages. We’ve spent a lot of time just developing the menu and focusing on the quality around the service delivery,” says Dossantos.
The menu boasts meals such as braised oxtail with garlic-buttered potato wedges, veggies and Portuguese rolls, or roasted pork belly with risotto and accompanying vegetables, roasted rabbit, slow-cooked lamb shanks, and a selection of light meals, such as wings or burgers.
Cafe Nikolas also offers a private dining experience involving a visit to your house to take care of everything.
“There will also be a side street-food menu you can order from once a week, but the focus remains on fine dining.”
Dossantos chose this format as a way to adapt to the times and not miss out on the opportunity to make fine dining more accessible to the average person.
The entrepreneur, who works in branding and hosting events such as the Pop Up Festival, says he wanted to use this time to focus on his passion for food, and also to fill a gap he feels exists in the fine dining market.
