Namibia got off to a great start in the Africa Women Championships when they beat Zambia 2-0 on Saturday.
Stella Williams scored the first goal after only 5 minutes when she bundled in a cross by Zenatha Coleman.
Thomalina Adams made it 2-0 on 20 minutes when she fired in a freekick from 25 metres out.
Namibia were full value for their win and created several scoring chances, with Zenatha Coleman and Thomalina Adams giving some fine passes.
Memory Ngonda shot narrowly wide on 30m while Coleman displayed some great dribbling skills to the delight of the crowd.
Namibian keeper Lydia Eixas also had a great game making some great diving saves from Misozi ZuluKabangwe Mupopo.
In the second half Eixas once again saved well from Helen Mubanga and Susan Banda while Coleman came close for Namibia when she shot wide from a quick counterattack.
Namibian Substitute Veweziwa Kotjpati hit the back of the net on 81 minutes only to be ruled offside, while at the other end, Eixas once again saved well from Mary Mwakapila.
Thomalina Adams won the Player of the Match award.
