Boy injured after jumping from moving vehicle in Oshikoto

A boy (8) sustained injuries after he reportedly jumped out of a moving vehicle in the Oshikoto region’s Omuntele constituency on Friday.

The police in the weekend crime report released on Sunday indicate that the incident occurred around 18h00 on the gravel road between the villages of Omuntele and Amilema.

The minor had reportedly taken a lift in a vehicle driving from Omuntele toward Omalengefo village. Police allege that as the vehicle approached his intended drop-off point, the boy jumped out while the car was still in motion.

“He sustained a wound on his forehead and on the tongue as he bit down when he fell,” the crime report says.

The boy was initially rushed to the Okatope Health Centre for emergency treatment. He was subsequently transferred to Onandjokwe Hospital for further medical attention.
