A new house, bootylicious moments and separation … Big Brother Amplified is heating up!
What would BBA be without twists and turns to make things that much more interesting for viewers?Well, the answer is simple really – without twists and turns, then it ain’t BBA. BBA is about twists and turns, baby! Nothing less and everything more!!And boy has Biggie started serving up twists and turns, both when it comes to the housemates and, unfortunately or not, us the viewers, from his big bag of tricks.NEW HOUSEHeads or Tails – which do you prefer? Well, as the viewer, you can choose both (just click on OK and go to ‘video’). This was however not the case for the BBA housemates. After a hyped up farce of an eviction on Sunday, 11 of the 26 housemates now find themselves in another house called ‘Tails’. And by ‘Tails’ I don’t mean something that dangles off the backside of an animal, or even last year’s farm impersonation of a barn! I mean a house so posh that even Victoria ‘Posh’ Beckham could call it home. Meanwhile, the original Amplified house, where the other 15 housemates will continue to live, is called ‘Heads’. For a devout Christian like myself, all this talk about ‘Heads’ and ‘Tails’ is worrying, especially as I’ve spent countless hours meditating on Deuteronomy 28:13 which reads: ‘The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.’I have racked my brain trying to figure out what it is the housemates in the Tails house might have done to Biggie to be reduced to the very bottom, and have concluded that perhaps they are not paying full attention to commands. I mean seriously, what other explanation is there?Housemates were randomly divided into two houses – through the simple exercise of choosing a glove from a bag during Sunday’s live ‘eviction’ show. They were then separated according to the colours they picked. In the Heads house you have Sharon O, Weza, Wendall, Vina, Millicent, Bernadina, Jossy, Michael, Zeus, Danny, Hanni, Lomwe, Vimbai, Felicia and Confidence.Nkuli, Ernest, Luclay, Mumba, Karen, Nic, Bhoke, Lotus, Alex, Miss P and Kim make up the Tails house. Not everyone is thrilled with Biggie’s two-house twist. Quite a few fans have expressed their dissatisfaction on various blogs, social network sites and even the BBA strapline. They argue that the game was more interesting when everyone was in one house. Writing on Facebook, Onyi Okere-Nwalia said: ‘What’s Amplified about separation? The housemates would have been in the same house, small space, get in each other’s zone, moreover Big Brother separated potential relationships and friendships brewing.’Meanwhile, Bhoke is the head of the Tails house. Zeus remains the head in the Heads house, with Sharon O as his deputy.I’M BOOTYLICIOUS FOR YA!While Beyonce is famous worldwide for coining the term ‘bootylicious’, BBA’s Miss P seems to be the embodiment of the term.Miss P’s height might not be something to write home about but she’s undeniably got an ASSet worthy of recognition – Ernest can earnestly attest to that reality. After almost a week in the house, the Ugandan finally picked up on (not literally speaking!) Miss P’s plump booty and could not resist pointing it out to Miss P herself. She stopped short of telling him where to get off, but asked her ignorant housemate where he had been all week if he was only noticing her literally outstanding feature now.Conversation later shifted to how Miss P had been unlucky with men back home, which took Lotus a while to digest. She said she couldn’t understand how that was possible when Miss P had such booty.’There’s ass everywhere in Botswana,’ Miss P responded. Lotus got somewhat excited about this. She said it meant she would be hot in Botswana because everyone would want something different!- You can catch all the action – 24/7 – on DStv channel 198.
