Big Brother Africa 4: The Revelations Unfold In The Revolution

KEVIN and Emma have grown quite close over the past days. Between the two of them, a lot of information was shared this week, from Emma’s disappointing attempt at a music career to the fears they both have regarding this week’s eviction.

However, one of the revelations that must rank ‘up there’ was uttered on Tuesday night when Kevin told Emma about his ‘EVIL STEPMOM’. Turns out our Naija frenemy had it tough as a child, having lived his childhood years at the mercy of his dear wicked stepmother. According to Kevin, the woman he was forced to call ‘mother’ ill-treated him and his siblings by hiding food from them and leaving them with no option but to steal food in their own house. Imagine that!! Kevin revealed that at some stages, he would only have mangoes for breakfast, lunch and supper. Kevin is convinced that Cruella De Ville, oops, I mean stepmother dearest, even consulted the underworld for some Juju to use on the family.’Even our father turned against us, always beating us up for everything she (stepmother) reported as bad behaviour by me and my siblings,’ Kevin said. According to him, because of all the ill-treatment his brother even contemplated committing suicide. As if all she had done was not enough, when Cruella finally decided to flush herself out of Kevin and his family’s lives, she decided that having poured her wrath on them was not going to cut it and added insult to injury by stripping them of their money and all the household furniture. If Kevin’s story is true, then this is one hell of a wicked woman in my book. This woman is a threat to any human being she comes in contact with.Though Kevin did not shed light on his stepmother’s reasons for her purported behaviour, and though I am no social worker, putting a child in a position that they feel they have steal food from their own house is just inhuman. During his revelation, Kevin also had the following to say: ‘If that woman who tortured me and my siblings while growing up is watching the BBA Revolution, then she must be cringing from jealousy.’ In response to this revelation, one BBA fan remarked: ‘Kevin, no need for you to win the US dollars, your stepmom will come back and steal your money like she did with your father.’ We shall wait and see.EVICTION FEARSMeanwhile, it seems both Emma and Kevin are a bit nervous about their survival in the house this week. Kevin told Emma that he is scared at the thought that he might be up against Emma and Emma in turn told Kevin that for the first time, she is scared about this week’s eviction, remarking that she could have come this far in the house only out of pure luck… I see she still believes in luck, this one. If you are so lucky Emma, then why is Jeremy not still in the house with you, or did your luck come only after he left? Don’t come tell me about luck here.Emma told Kevin not to fear, saying that he would have reason to be shaken only if he was up against our Eddie … go Eddie, GO Eddie, if even Emma has to acknowledge that you are a threat to Kevin, that means you’re the man, dude. And of course Kevin himself has said more than once in the diary room that he regards Eddie as his main threat.Kevin, Emma and Eddie have all survived the most nomination showdowns. NKENNA’S ‘POT OF PORRIDGE’Now this ‘pot of porridge’ does not refer to the maize or mahangu pap which we often down with Omaere or vleis. Noooo, in Nkenna’s terms, this refers to her uhhmmm, womanhood, do you get where I’m going? Remember Bill Clinton’s famous remark about Monica Lewinsky: ‘I never had sexual relations with that woman’? Well, as we wrote earlier, Nkenna recently claimed to never have had physical relations with a man. No doubt this confession left Itai, who was the recipient of the confession, intrigued. Nkenna, as you know, explained to Itai that she has been afraid to sleep with a man who means something to her because ‘what if they leave me?’. Anyway, the long and the short of this is to say that she made it clear though that there was nothing wrong with her womanhood. Get it!As you may remember, Nkenna told Itai that she would rather give ‘it’ to a man she does not care about because that way she won’t get hurt. She said she would even have given ‘it’ to Itai if she thought he was sincere … eish Itai, if only you had sown the seed of sincerity from the very beginning, you could have been the reaper of Nkenna’s ‘pot of porridge’ right about now. Look at what your insincerity cost you now. Nkenna also said that she has a way to test the sincerity of a man and says that her boyfriend is a sincere man. Now you know guys, the way to Nkenna’s ‘pot of porridge’ is sincerity … don’t say I didn’t tell you.* You can watch Big Brother Africa 24 hours a day on DStv channel 198.
