Big Brother Africa 4: Keep Erastus In!

Big Brother Africa 4: Keep Erastus In!

IF you’ve ever been to a party with Eddie and Erastus then you will know how mad and crazy these guys can be!

OK, so the fact that they both received an overwhelming majority of nominations obviously means that not everyone gets their particular brand of humour but beneath all the posturing and over-the-top sexual innuendo lie two very sweet, good-hearted guys. We just have to keep them in the house long enough for it to shine through. Besides the fact that they are my buddies, I’m tired of our Namibian housemates always being among the first to be evicted. Apart from Stefan in BBA 1, all our other housemates have been among the first four or so to be evicted. They all left far too early to make an impact. Don’t know about you, but I am tired of people trying to make out that Namibia is some sort of backwater dorpie. We may have a small population, compared to other (overpopulated) African countries but what we lack in numbers, we surely make up for in attitude.Eddie and Erastus are at least representing and showing themselves to be funky, cool, attractive and smart go-getters. It’s time Africa got to experience the full extent of Nam flava!Eish, but sometimes I wish I could be employed as their personal BBA 4 advisor, I’d give Erastus a call and tell him to pretend to fall in love with Paloma. That should endear him to African viewers. I’d tell them to tone down the sexually explicit chatter and try and get the ladies on their side. Right now, most of the ladies are beyond put off and if the twins keep this up, I worry that traditional African audiences won’t be able to handle their playboy ways. I was almost screaming at the TV on Sunday as I watched Eddie and Erastus hide the alcohol away! Eish guys, try being gentlemen. Offer the ladies a drink on their first night. Try to show your softer (hehehe) sides.PHIL-BERT I think Erastus is pretty lucky this time around. He’s been pitted against Phil in the eviction stakes, the guy who already pissed a whole lot of people off by calling Kaone a village idiot. Phil seems to have a split personality – he’s calm and attractive when sober but give him a drink and he turns into an agitated, aggressive jerk!I actually really liked him at the start of the game, he seemed to have everything going for him – a degree in chemistry to compliment those tall, dark and handsome looks, but looks can be so deceiving. Who knew behind that sweet smile lurked the crazy-eyed look of Jack Nicholson in ‘The Witches of Eastwick’?He’s full of himself and such an awful bully. At least Erastus is more of a lover than a fighter. I checked his Facebook profile and Erastus ‘Black Vanillah’ Moongo has no less than 762 friends! If every single one of them could simply register on the BBA 4 website and vote to keep him in the house, a couple of times everyday until Sunday’s eviction – then even all of Uganda’s numbers wouldn’t be able to keep that Philistine Phil in the house. So please guys, if you haven’t gotten voting – get voting. It’s really easy this time around – as you already know, you can vote either on the website, via Mxit or by SMS. Mxit allows you to vote 10 times per voting period, while the website allows you to vote once every hour. SMSes cost N$3, so if you are not suffering under the credit crunch – use that credit to keep our guy in the house. You might even win a sparkling new PVR decoder or US$1 000 as a reward for your efforts – last week there was even a Namibian winner, just remember that voting closes at 06h00 on Sunday morning.Happy voting!* Tune in to DStv Channel 198 or 199 to catch the action live 24/7, or watch the daily highlights show on M-Net (DStv Channel 101/102) and AfricaMagic (DStv Channel 114) every day at 18h30. Weekly highlights will also be aired on NBC, every Saturday from 21h15 – 22h15.
