Bank Windhoek launches first wallet-to-wallet service

Bank Windhoek has become the first bank to launch a wallet-to-wallet money transfer service – even for those with no bank account.

Announced on Wednesday, EasyWallet On-Send allows people to send money from their Bank Windhoek EasyWallet to another EasyWallet.

Bank Windhoek managing director James Chapman says customers can send up to N$2 000 per day and perform multiple transactions daily.

“This new feature demonstrates our commitment to financial inclusion, innovation, and secure, instant payments,” he says.

Chapman says the bank plans to review and possibly increase this limit in the future, based on customer needs.

Currently, the option is only available to MTC mobile users and will soon be extended to TN Mobile customers, he says.
