Standard Bank Namibia handed over a Toyota Hilux to Martin Jekconia, the grand prize winner of its Mastercard card usage campaign.
The Mastercard campaign is a Standard Bank promotion that rewards customers for using their Mastercard for everyday transactions.
The vehicle was handed over on Friday after a live draw that selected three finalists from qualifying customers across the country.
In a media release issued on Friday, Standard Bank Namibia says Jekconia won the pick-up as the campaign’s top prize.
Two runner-up winners were also rewarded.
Hendrik Nangolo received a laptop and laptop bag, while Dumaza Sibanda won a N$5 000 shopping voucher.
All finalists received Standard Bank-branded hampers.
After receiving the keys, Jekconia said the win was a major milestone in his life.
“This is my first car ever. Winning this vehicle makes me feel like a millionaire. I am grateful to Standard Bank for making this possible,” he said.
The media release says the campaign was promoted through activations such as Blue Weekend Trolley Dashes, the Ongwediva Trade Fair, Rundu Agriculture Show and the Windhoek Agricultural Show.
All stages of the draw were independently audited and the final draw was livestreamed to ensure transparency, a statement reads.
According to the media release, the campaign supports its broader strategy to promote digital banking, financial inclusion and customer engagement.
