The mines ministry has appointed Aune Amutenya as the acting petroleum commissioner, effective 2 June.
Amutenya was previously the deputy director of petroleum exploration and takes over from Maggy Shino.
“Her appointment follows the relief of Maggy Shino as petroleum commissioner. Shino will continue to serve in her current capacity as director under the department of upstream petroleum affairs,” minister of energy Modestus Amutse announced on Thursday.
Amutenya was previously a geoscientist at the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy.
