The Audi story began in the 19th century and has evolved through two world wars, brand mergers under Auto Union, and victories in the Austrian Alpine Rally between 1912 and 1914.
In 1980, the Audi Quattro was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show – a moment that cemented the brand’s place in automotive history. Today, Audi owners know they are driving a legacy.
Last week, TopRevs experienced the 2025 Audi A5 first-hand, a car that left a lasting impression on all who took it for a spin.
Combining cutting-edge technology, performance, and signature Audi styling, the A5 showcases the brand’s DNA in every detail.
Under the hood lies a high-performance two-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 146kW and 340Nm, propelling the car from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.8 seconds.
Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
For those seeking enhanced performance or a sportier appearance, the A5 is available in the S line or the TFSI quattro S tronic variants.
The A5 is packed with unique features, starting with its innovative sunroof. This glass roof offers six light-density settings, allowing natural light to filter in while darkening automatically when the car is switched off to protect the interior and valuables.
Audi also offers optional headlights with eight high-definition LED settings, adjustable via the MMI system, which serves as a virtual command centre through two interior touchscreens.
The cabin features two soft touchscreens, with the driver’s screen measuring around 37cm, ensuring convenient operation.
Interior details, such as soft-touch door handles and a boot lid, operate with a simple touch. Mood lighting can be customised to suit the occupant’s preference, reminiscent of a luxury airliner’s cabin.
Audi fitted a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, including speakers integrated into the headrests, providing an immersive experience for navigation and calls.
Safety is paramount in the A5. Adaptive cruise control maintains a safe following distance, blind-spot monitoring alerts drivers to potential hazards, and emergency brake assist intervenes to prevent or mitigate collisions with vehicles or pedestrians.
Parking is made easier with sensors and a 360-degree camera, ensuring visibility and reducing the risk of damage.
While the A5 comes with a 12-month guarantee, the accompanying service plan is highly attractive.
Standard coverage includes five years or 100 000km, extendable up to 15 years or 300 000km at an additional cost, reflecting Audi’s commitment to long-term ownership satisfaction.
