Andeline Wieland Takes a Chance to Find Mr Right

In the spirit of the day that symbolises love, Namibian model, pageant winner and entrepreneur Andeline Wieland has stepped out to take the chance of meeting Mr Right. The beauty from Swakopmund will be one of 24 hopefuls vying for love in the second season of ‘The Bachelor South Africa’.

Wieland won Miss Continents 2017, was the first runner-up in the 2016 Miss Namibia pageant and was Miss Teen Namibia in 2012.

She made her debut on the first episode of the show which aired on M-Net channel 102 at 19h00 last night. If you missed it, catch a repeat episode tomorrow at 10h00 or Sunday at 14h30.

Wieland spoke to The Weekender earlier this week about her experience being part of the show, what the public can expect and she shares some of her future plans.

I’ve been single for two years now and have mainly been focusing on my studies and career as a model and entrepreneur. I had little time for love. Those guys I did end up vibing with were not ready to commit to something more serious. I also wanted to experience what it’s like dating a guy that wants to be serious and get married one day.

Oh no! I thought I would have been married by now, but sometimes God has a different plan for us. I have always enjoyed reality TV competitions and started watching ‘The Bachelor’ when Hannah B started competing because she is also a pageant girl like me. I absolutely adore ‘The Bachelor Australia’. I watched snippets of last year’s South African show and thought that if I was still single a year from now I would try it.

It’s a chance to show conservative girls like myself that it is OK to take your love life into your own hands and ask the guy out. You can make the first move. It is also a chance to show everyone who Andeline Wieland really is behind all the glitz and glamour that Namibians have come to know me for. I have feelings, insecurities and fears also – just like everyone else.

I did not tell very many people. My family has been very supportive as they know how much I have struggled finding love.

Blatant honesty, lots of sass and lots of laughing and creative thinking and of course slayage at every cocktail party.

I would encourage those who are willing to lay down everything on the line for a chance at love. This show will reveal your true self and teach you so much about yourself and people that you never knew.

I am enjoying being a part of such a successful show. It really is a once in a lifetime experience and a chance to focus on myself and what it is I truly want from love.

Ah, that would have to be the cocktail parties. I do really love getting dressed up and having a laugh over a drink. I also find the dates super awesome. They are really dream dates.

I have come to the realisation that I am much more mature than I thought I was. I have also noticed that I can deal well with pressure and stress. I have also challenged my insecurities and publicly faced the chance of being rejected in front of everyone and for that I am so proud of myself. I know that I have so much to offer – both as a person and lover.

I severely undervalued and underestimated myself and that I am capable of attracting a man as successful and handsome as Marc. Also, that I get really sassy if someone pushes my buttons.

If you are against the concept of ‘The Bachelor’, don’t enter. I realised a long time ago that due to my career and personality I will need a man that not only understands the nature of the industry I am in, but also knows how to conduct himself around others while in the limelight. This show ensures that the bachelor is that kind of man. I am looking for someone extraordinary.
