Alexforbes has reaffirmed its commitment to combating childhood cancer by increasing its sponsorship to N$85 000 for the upcoming Yellow Ribbon Festival.

“In collaboration with the Cancer Association of Namibia, this annual family-oriented event aims to raise awareness and extend support to children battling cancer,” Alexforbes said in a statement released last week.

According to the statement, Alexforbes’ eight-year partnership with the Cancer Association of Namibia has witnessed steadfast support for diverse cancer-related initiatives. This collaboration has significantly raised awareness and provided essential resources for cancer patients and their families.

The Yellow Ribbon Festival promises a vibrant assortment of activities, including live music, a 20-kilometre fun cycle, and a 2km, 3km and 5km fun walk.

This multifaceted family fun day provides a platform for participants and visitors to unite, standing in solidarity with children in their fight against cancer.

Community support plays a vital role in the campaign against childhood cancer.

Managing director of Alexforbes Namibia Stéfan du Preez said the impact of childhood cancers is profound and the partnership with the Cancer Association of Namibia reflects their commitment to heightening awareness and contributing to the battle against cancer.

“Alexforbes remains dedicated to positively impacting lives, and our involvement in initiatives like the Yellow Ribbon Festival echoes our core values,” Du Preez emphasised. “Especially in challenging times, we recognise the importance of uniting and offering unwavering support to those in need.”
