Airports company heads to Zanzibar for aviation summit

The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) will participate in the 2025 AviaDev Africa Summit, taking place from 11 to 13 June in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

The high-level aviation and tourism gathering is expected to attract more than 400 industry leaders from across the continent to discuss the future of air connectivity in Africa.

This marks NAC’s third appearance at the summit and follows its successful role as the host of the 2024 edition in Windhoek.

The company is continuing its strategic efforts to position Namibia as a regional aviation hub and gateway to southern Africa.

“AviaDev is more than just a conference, it’s a platform for building partnerships that directly impact Namibia’s air connectivity and tourism growth. We are proud to represent Namibia and continue conversations that attract investment and improve regional linkages,” says NAC spokesperson Dan Kamati.

The 2025 summit will feature a masterclass on air route development, and a Southern African Development Community workshop focused on expanding air services to underserved regions.

Both sessions are aimed at driving sustainable growth in African aviation, particularly in countries like Namibia that are keen to unlock their full transport and tourism potential.

Kamati adds that NAC’s involvement underscores its commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity.

“Better air access boosts economic development, and our participation shows that Namibia is serious about being part of Africa’s aviation future,” he says.
