Debmarine Namibia Diamond Award for Science recipient and fourth-year medical student Yvonne Mvula was named the best student in her faculty for the 2015 academic year.
Yvonne performed excellently for two consecutive years (2014 and 2015). She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery at the University of Namibia’s School of Medicine. Yvonne hails from Omeege Village in the Oshana region. She attended Charles Anderson Primary School and matriculated with flying colours at Gabriel Taapopi Senior Secondary School at Ongwediva.
“Growing up, my mother instilled in me the importance of being educated and self-motivated. She taught me the importance of hard work and to push myself to excel, and I have nurtured these traits throughout my scholastic career. My mother has always told me that if you are going to do something, you might as well do it well and I have functioned under that ethos my entire life,” said the vibrant 21-year-old. Following her achievements in secondary school, Yvonne was scouted by Debmarine Namibia as a candidate for the Diamond Award for Science. She said the award confirmed the notion that if you work hard, focus on your goals and stay motivated, your dreams will come true.
Yvonne applauds Debmarine Namibia for the opportunity granted to her to complete her studies without financial struggles.
“I am deeply grateful to Debmarine Namibia for facilitating the attainment of my goals and offering me the opportunity to avidly pursue my dreams. Words cannot explain the impact they have had on my life.
I will be forever indebted to the company.
” Yvonne vowed to continue to strive to the best of her abilities to ensure that Debmarine Namibia’s faith in her will not be in vain.
“This achievement is one of the ways I can show appreciation to Debmarine Namibia for their trust in me.
I hope my story will encourage my fellow youth to put their all in education and the pursuit of a better future.
”Yvonane applauded Debmarine Namibia for noticing and rewarding the efforts of the youth with the Diamond Award for Science as it truly unlocks the sparkle in the youth.
“I hope Debmarine Namibia will continue to reward numerous more individuals in the pursuit of greatness.”
