WHETHER you are in the mood for live music, creative workshops, a market stroll or an early morning run, the coming days offer a variety of ways to get out and about.
From rooftop jazz in Windhoek to community markets, sporting events and artistic gatherings across the country, here is a look at what is happening.
Today
Tonight is Afro Jazz Night at Stratos Avani between 18h00 and 22h00. Entry is free for an evening of smooth Afro jazz, food, drink specials and rooftop vibes above the city.
This Weekend
Tomorrow is Langarm Night at Hoekies Entertainment at Groot Aub. From 17h30, the event will have a variety of Baster and Nama langarm music mixes and live music by local artists for N$20.
There’s an Easter night market on Friday, 27 March, at Dagbreek School for the Intellectually Impaired. Doors are open between 18h00 and 22h00 and there will be food and drinks, other stalls, entertainment and activities.
On Saturday from 06h00 Dagbreek is also hosting the ‘Run for Intellectual Disability’ marathon. There are 2km, 5km, 10km and 21km routes for N$50 per person.
There’s also a Namibia Medical Care and the Windhoek City Runners Club run on Saturday, with 5km, 10km, 15km and 21.1km routes, starting at Namibia Padel at Olympia from 06h00.
Actor Armas Shivute is hosting a three-day acting workshop at Swakopmund from 27 to 29 March. Attendees can expect to cover scene study and character development, camera acting techniques, script analysis, audition preparation, industry insights, and professional discipline, concluding with performance and coaching. The fee is N$300.
On 28 March is the Seaworks Cares Beach Series aquathlon final event. You can swim between 50m and 2km and/or run between 2.5 and 15km. Register at timetracka.app.
This Saturday from 09h00, Kaleidoscope Creations Namibia and the National Art Gallery of Namibia are hosting a free string puppet-making workshop using recycled materials for attendees aged 12 to 17.
This is hosted parallel to the ‘Togetherness’ exhibition which can be viewed until mid April.
The Atlantis Sport Club at Walvis Bay is hosting the ‘Dear You’ book launch and fundraiser this Saturday from 10h00.
Entree is any donation, like nappies and formula, to the Namibia Breast Milk Bank. There will be refreshments and a jumping castle for the children.
Come through to Muso’s Café & Bar for ‘Hear My Heart’, an intimate and meaningful evening of connection, communication and understanding, where they will explore what ‘he’ thinks, what ‘she’ feels and how ‘we’ express it all.
Entry is N$50 from 18h00.
Step into a blossom‑inspired experience at the #BakeWithIna Cake Decorating Workshop – Floral Edition, this Saturday at 10h00 at Hooves & Gardens. This is for you if you are looking for a fun and creative weekend activity, whether you’re completely new to decorating, eager to improve your skills or simply a baking lover at heart.
For N$600 per person, you get decorating tools, an apron, a pre‑baked bento cake, step‑by‑step floral design guidance, refreshments and your own floral masterpiece to take home.
Delta Secondary School Windhoek is hosting a market day this Saturday from 08h00. There will be food and drink stalls, family fun, activities and a soccer match.
The Windhoek Karneval (WiKa) season officially begins on 28 March at the Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) courtyard with the NBL WiKa kick-off from 11h11. Entry is free and the event promises great music, a lively atmosphere and fantastic company. More events will take place throughout April.
This Saturday is the Steeze University’s Matcha Pop Up at Vinyl’s Music and Arts Cafe. Expect smooth matcha pours, vinyls spinning all day, good energy and the Steeze community under one roof.
Joe’s Beerhouse is celebrating St Patrick’s Day on the 28th with live music by Johnny Louw. There will be green beer, food, drink specials and good vibes from 13h00. Entry is free.
End your week with Stratos Avani’s Sunday Session and enjoy rooftop views, Dj Cellos & APL Sounds on the decks and 20% off cocktails from 14h00.
