The festive season is on the horizon.

I can already smell the braai meat in the air, and I imagine thieves are purchasing balaclavas by the boat load. I implore you all to stay safe, drive sober, have fun in moderation and have a hell of a time as the year comes to a close.

Thursday

‘Naked Spaces’, a play by Rodney Gariseb, will premier tonight at the National Theatre of Namibia from 20h00 and will run till Saturday. This play is part of the NTN New Makers’s Programme and features Mukendu Ndjavera, Odile Gertze, Michael Nakale and Rodelio Lewis on stage. Entry is N$120.

Tonight is also the launch and signing of Nicola Brandt’s book ‘The Distance Within’ at the Namibian Arts Association from 19h00. It is a reflection on memory, identity, and Namibia’s fractured colonial and apartheid pasts. The book traces Namibia’s emotional and historical landscapes through the artist’s photography, video, and performance work, with essays by leading memory scholars and activists. Entry is free.
This Weekend

Tomorrow is 1500 Cultural Agenda & Activities Chill Party at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre Terrace from 18h00. DJ Lotus will be on the decks and there will be an open mic night for singers, poets and even jugglers. Entry is N$20.

This Saturday, Divas & Gents presents the He Leads men’s summit under the theme ‘Building Brotherhood. Shaping Legacies’ this Saturday at Country Club Golf Range. There will be talks from 18h00 for N$350.

The Painting Table: With Art Classes by Karel will take place on Saturday from 18h00 at Sorellas. Entry is N$550 per person, which includes a canvas, painting essentials and snacks.

Next Week

There’s a Brahman and Simmentaler signature sale on 11 November. There are 30 white Brahman bulls, 30 white Brahman heifers, eight Simmentaler bulls and five Simmentaler heifers up for grabs from 18h00 at Agra Auction Ring in Windhoek.

Vivo Energy’s Corporate Golf Day is taking place on 13 November at Windhoek Country Club and resort from 11h00. Under the theme ‘Swingin it for Safety’, the event will raise funds to install lighting and surveillance cameras in crime hotspots in Windhoek. Entry is N$4 000 per person and includes a shirt. Cap, golf cart, breakfast, snacks and prizes.

Next Saturday is Gratitude for Growth, a three hour in-person training session designed to help participants shift into a gratitude mindset, strengthen emotional skills and deepen team dynamics. This is perfect for coaches, leaders and anyone seeking growth through appreciation. Entry is N$600 from 09h30. The Windhoek location is yet to be announced.

The National Theatre of Namibia is hosting the Stage Actors Training Lab 2025 every Tuesday and Thursday in the Rehearsal Room between 14h00 and 17h00. N$50-per-class tickets are only available via Webtickets.

Drop in on Quiz Night and flex your cerebral cortex at Piccolo Cafe and Lounge every Tuesday from 18h30. Entry is N$30 per person for groups of maximum six.

On Wednesdays you can also grab two ice cold beers from the tap for the price of one at Vinyls Music and Arts Cafe.

The Speakeasy in Liliencron Street is hosting Ladies’ Night every Wednesday with 50% off of all cocktails and meal options available.

And the last Wednesday weekly shindig is Comedy and Poetry Night at Sicilia’s Restaurant and Lounge from 19h00. Cash prizes of up to N$1 000 are up for grabs for performers. Spots are limited.

Get ready for the third Restoration concert with Nigerian singer, songwriter and worship leader Sinach at the Dr Hage Geingob Stadium on 22 November. Standard tickets are N$100, Golden Circle is N$300, individual VIP tickets are N$2 000 and VIP booths that can accommodate up to 25 people with meals and drinks are N$50 000 on Webtickets.
