Today
Tonight at the National Art Gallery of Namibia, come through for ‘Inherited Testimonies’, an exhibition retracing the genocide with Nama and Ovaherero descendants from 17h30. Forensic Architecture and Forensis will present the investigated work alongside respective traditional leaders. Entry is free and the exhibition will run till 20 September.
Catch ‘A Little Prince’ in Namibia, a dance and theatrical production directed by Philippe Talavera and featuring his troupe, tonight and Friday from 19h00 at the Franco- Namibian Cultural Centre. Expect music, dancing and various other performances inspired by ‘The Little Prince’, a book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Tickets are between N$80 and N$120.
This Weekend
On Friday, catch part three of the ‘Trilogy to The Future: Restoration and Resilience’ genocide commemoration event at the Namibia University of Science and Technology from 14h00. It will feature land activist Nesindano Namises and Uendjii Black who is a descendant of Ovaherero-Nama survivors. The theme is ‘How can Namibia rebuild cultural identity, dignity and trust for affected persons’?
Next Week
Next Tuesday and Wednesday, the National Theatre of Namibia is pleased to present a children’s theatre production titled ‘The Naughty Little Flea’. This Nelago Shilongoh directed piece is perfect for children aged three to six and will be staged at 09h30 and 11h30 on both days.
On Saturday, 23 August, the National Theatre of Namibia is hosting auditions in their rehearsal room for stage actors for their production titled ‘Naked Spaces’, written by Rodney Gariseb. The play will be staged from 6 to 8 November. Come through between 10h00 and 16h00 to shoot your shot!

The National Theatre of Namibia is hosting the Stage Actors Training Lab 2025 every Tuesday and Thursday in the Rehearsal Room between 14h00 and 17h00. The N$50-per-class tickets are only available via Webtickets. Participants must be 18 years of age.
Every week is Tipsy Tuesday at the Rabbit Hole in Windhoek. Catch drink specials and music by DJs like IcearGrooves and MVSA from noon. On Wednesdays you can grab two ice cold Hansa Draughts for N$50 at Vinyls Music and Arts Cafe.
Drop in on quiz night and flex your cerebral cortex at Piccolo Cafe and Lounge every Tuesday from 18h30. Entry is N$30 per person for groups of maximum six. Wednesdays are ladies night at 18 Liliencron Street. All cocktails are half price.
Beyond
The 2025 Namibian Lesbian Festival is happening on the 30th at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre from 18h30. Expect creativity, connection, sisterhood and healing under the theme ‘Stronger Together Through Unity, Solidarity and Power’. Entry is free. Everyone is welcome.
Love ballet? Well, the whimsical tale of ‘Thumbelina’ is coming to the National Theatre of Namibia’s stage from 11 to 13 September. The Robin van Wyk choreographed and directed production will have four recitals at N$220 per person.
Get ready for the third Restoration Concert with Nigerian singer, songwriter and worship leader Sinach at the Dr Hage Geingob Stadium on 22 November. Standard tickets are N$100, golden circle is N$300, individual VIP tickets are N$2 000 and VIP booths that can accommodate up to 25 people with meals and drinks are N$50 000 on Webtickets. The rest of the line up is still to be announced.
