Young man dreaming of Asian food franchise

ASIAN FOOD DREAM … A young man, Dankie Duimpie Haraeb, has dreams of setting up an Asian food franchise called The Dragon Box.

But the problem Haraeb faces, just like many other aspiring young entrepreneurs, is lack of money. ‘The only problem we are facing is lack of funds.’

‘I went to the SME Bank, but I don’t meet their requirements,’ he says.

Haraeb, who has been working in restaurants in Windhoek and Swakopmund for five years, says he hopes investors will buy into his idea.

‘We want to open our first takeaway here in Windhoek, but our mission is to open Dragon Box all over Namibia. The key employees will be myself and three others,’ he said.

He says he plans to sell stir fries, meat, vegetables, egg noodles and jasmine rice.

‘Our dream is to help our President in creating employment for the youth and keep them away from street corners and use of drugs and alcohol,’ he says.
