Workman’s compensation beneficiaries asked to update information

The Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation has called on workman’s compensation beneficiaries to submit relevant documents to the ministry as part of its payroll audit.

These funds benefit civil servants who have been injured on duty, as well as beneficiaries of former civil servants who died on duty.

There are currently 310 beneficiaries.

In a media statement, the executive director of labour, industrial relations and employment creation, Lydia Indombo, said the ministry is currently in the process of undertaking a payroll audit on workman’s compensation benefits as per the Public Service Management Circular No. 11 of 2018, during which a need was detected for beneficiaries to submit their latest information.

“It is for this reason that the ministry would like to request all beneficiaries who are currently receiving workman’s compensation benefits on a monthly basis to submit the following documents to the ministry’s head office at the finance office or at any of the labour regional offices near them.

“Documents can also be emailed to pombili.nghiitete@mol.gov.na on or before 31 May 2024,” Indombo said.

She said beneficiaries must submit a bank confirmation letter with a bank stamp not more than three months old, a certified copy of their ID card not older than three months, and a police declaration confirming their residential address, telephone or cellphone number, and bank account ownership.

“Failure to submit these documents on or before 31 May 2024 may result in the payments of benefits being suspended,” she warned.
