A 22-year-old man has been arrested while another one is at large after they allegedly raped a 19-year-old girl at Kambimba village in the Mukwe constituency.
According to Kavango East acting regional commander, deputy commissioner Bonifatius Kanyetu, the incident happened on Tuesday at about 02h00.
Kanyetu said the two allegedly pulled the victim from her bedroom and dragged her to a water point, where they forced her to have sexual intercourse.
“The arrested suspect is currently detained at the Divundu Police Station, while the second suspect, who is known to the police, is currently on the run. Police investigations are underway and a case of rape has been registered at the Mukwe Police Station,” Kanyetu said.
