Woman dies as vehicle crashes into shack house at Walvis Bay

A 54-year-old woman died at Walvis Bay on Saturday after a pickup vehicle crashed into her shack house.

According to Erongo police commander for community affairs inspector Ileni Shapumba, a security company vehicle crashed into the woman’s shack while she was sleeping.

The woman was struck by the vehicle and was fatally injured.

She was identified as Emilia Kuhafi Shuudifonya.

The driver of the pickup – a 28-year-old man who was on duty at the time of the incident – was arrested and is due to appear in court on Monday.

The incident occured at around 10h00 at Walvis Bay’s Kuisebmond area.
