A woman (32) from Ohalumbele village at Onesi has been arrested in connection with the death of a toddler (3).
The incident was reported to the police on Friday.
The woman allegedly entered the house where the toddler lived with her father.
She then reportedly went to the bedroom where the child was sleeping and took her from the house.
The police say the woman then strangled the child and dumped her body in the field belonging to her father.
The suspect faces charges of murder and defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
