THIS years ‘Winter Knights’ campaign which is held by Radiowave, The Round Table and Spes Bona Motor Company was once again a huge success and over 3 000 children across the country will benefit.
Companies were encouraged to buy intersections on July 3 in Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. They could then brand and man their intersections and collect blankets, clothing, food and money from the public for vulnerable and orphaned children.
More than N$102 000 was raised in cash and mountains of blankets, food and clothing were donated.
With the money, more blankets were bought and distributed by The Round Table throughout the country.
In Windhoek alone 1 700 blankets were distributed amongst crèches, kindergartens and soup kitchens from the Informal Settlements, Katutura and Khomasdal.
