Windhoek taxi driver arrested for attempting to bribe police officer

A taxi driver (40) was arrested in the Windhoek central business district on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to bribe a traffic officer.

Khomas regional police spokesperson senior inspector Silas Shipandeni on Saturday said: “The suspect was avoiding a fine of N$750 for a traffic offence.”

Shipandeni said bribery undermines police performance and urged motorists to refrain from doing so.
