WINDHOEK experienced heavy showers mixed with hail yesterday afternoon.

The Weather Bureau seemed to be on the mark when it predicted that heavy showers would fall this week. Yesterday, Windhoek-based weather forecaster Simon Dirkse said that “things are looking green”.He had said earlier that they expected good rains across the country from today until the weekend.Dirkse said although no rainfall figures had been received from Katima Mulilo yesterday, it had been raining there for the last few days.”Some areas are flooded and some children cannot go to school,” he said. But from today the weather is expected to start clearing up over Katima Mulilo, although rainfall is expected to fall at the town later again.Yesterday, Windhoek-based weather forecaster Simon Dirkse said that “things are looking green”.He had said earlier that they expected good rains across the country from today until the weekend.Dirkse said although no rainfall figures had been received from Katima Mulilo yesterday, it had been raining there for the last few days.”Some areas are flooded and some children cannot go to school,” he said. But from today the weather is expected to start clearing up over Katima Mulilo, although rainfall is expected to fall at the town later again.
