The City of Windhoek council on Tuesday elected Ndeshihafela Larandja of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) as the new mayor of Windhoek.
Claudia Hanases from the Popular Democratic Movement was elected as the deputy mayor.
The council also elected its new management committee chaired by Affirmative Repositioning’s Ilse Keister.
Other members include Joseph Uapingene (Nudo), Fransina Kahungu (Swapo), Jürgen Hecht (IPC) and Bernardus Araeb (IPC). Magistrate Immanuel Udjombala presided over the election.
