When The Youth Are Gone

When The Youth Are Gone

NAMIBIA is a beautiful country liberated about 16 years ago, but it is already spoiled badly by the youth.

I wonder what will happen in five more years if the situation continues like this. I tend to believe that by the approach of Vision 2030, our youth will all be gone since AIDS is killing us like flies. Is it happening for the reason that we do not know the facts of life or out of ignorance? I am worried that we will be embarrassed by our Vision 2030 with the highest death rate worldwide due to the HIV pandemic.I think we would just end up with a ‘vision of HIV’ instead of economic development. The HIV phenomenon can only be eradicated if we abstain from sex, but this can only be achieved if we change our behaviour instantly.I’d like to encourage the youth to find out things before they engage in sexual activity. To parents and teachers: it’s time to teach our children about sex education and let them know the real facts. To the mothers: it’s never too late to teach your daughters in advance, rather than starting when you ask who the father of her baby is! And girls, I say to you; there is nothing cool about being a mom as a teenager and if you’re not careful, at the time you are supposed to be doing your homework and covering your schoolbooks, you might end up changing nappies instead! You boys: you need change your lifestyle and be ambitious about your future lives. To the youth at large, let me remind you that “AIDS kills” and we wouldn’t like to have our brave land filled with graveyards instead of buildings and development by the year 2030.Malakia I.Ilungu Walvis BayI tend to believe that by the approach of Vision 2030, our youth will all be gone since AIDS is killing us like flies. Is it happening for the reason that we do not know the facts of life or out of ignorance?
