Weekend Sport Fixtures

Youth football takes centre stage this weekend when the MTC Hopsol Youth finals are held at the Jan Mohr fields today. 

In the u19 Cup final the defending champions Collin Benjamin Soccer Talents (CBST) will take on Riverheights, while CBST are also in the u17 final where they will come up against Kasaona FA. 

In the u19 Shield final Kasaona FA will face Swallows while Jan Mohr will face Baller Boys in the u17 Shield final. All these matches will be held at the Jan Mohr fields starting at 15h30 this afternoon.

The outdoor swimming season gets underway this weekend when the first Bank Windhoek Long Course Gala takes place. 

The gala will be held at three venues simultaneously, namely the Olympia pool in Windhoek, the Sand Sharks Swimming Pool in Oranjemund, and the Water Cube in Swakopmund.

The Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing Academy will present an amateur boxing tournament at the After Care Centre in Katutura on Saturday, while the NDTC Futsal Premier League will continue at the Windhoek Showgrounds Arena on Sunday. 

The RMB Offroad Triathlon will also be held at the Oanob Dam outside Rehoboth on Sunday.

In international sport the big football fixture of the weekend is the English Premiership showdown between arch-enemies Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. 

Another big clash takes place in the German Bundesliga between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, while the Fifa u20 World Cup final between Argentina and Morocco takes place at 01h00 Namibian time on Monday morning in Santiago, Chile.
