Vodacom chooses Siemens to bring 3G to Tanzania

JOHANNESBURG – South African mobile phone operator Vodacom has chosen Germany’s Siemens to provide the mobile broadband infrastructure to bring 3G HSDPA technology to Tanzania, it said yesterday.

Vodacom’s rollout of a 3G HDSPA-enabled third-generation network in Tanzania will be the company’s first outside its South African home market.
