Good morning.
It is an honour to welcome you to my office on this important occasion marking the handover of valuable, much-needed materials to Mokganedi Tlhabanello High School in the Omaheke Region, in support of education and community development.
At the outset, I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to Mr Martin Schoeman and the entire Pupkewitz Megabuild team for this commendable contribution. Your gesture reflects a deep sense of responsibility and partnership in advancing our National Development Plan.
This handover is not just about the transfer of materials; it is about strengthening the foundations upon which education is delivered. It is about creating safe, dignified and functional spaces that enable effective teaching and meaningful learning for a Namibian child.
Today, we are reminded that education remains central to our national priorities. It is the most powerful instrument through which we can empower our people, reduce inequalities and unlock sustainable economic growth. However, for education to fulfil this role, it must be supported by adequate infrastructure and a conducive learning environment.
The provision of essential materials such as doors, locks and security lighting directly contributes to improving safety, protecting resources and enhancing the overall learning environment. These are practical interventions, but their impact is far-reaching.
This initiative also underscores the importance of collaboration. The development of our country cannot rest on the government alone. It requires active participation from the private sector, communities and all stakeholders. When we work together, we are able to respond more effectively to challenges and deliver tangible results.
As the government, we remain committed to strengthening the education sector as a cornerstone of national development. We will continue to prioritise investments that improve access, quality and equity within our education system.
To the leadership and learners of this school, I encourage you to take full ownership of these resources. Protect them, maintain them and ensure that they serve both present and future generations.
To our partners in the private sector, today’s contribution stands as a strong example of what can be achieved through shared vision and commitment. We encourage others to follow this example and continue supporting initiatives that uplift our communities.
Let this occasion reaffirm our collective resolve to build an education system that is inclusive, resilient and responsive to the needs of our people.
Together, we can create a future in which every child has the opportunity to learn in a safe environment, realise their potential and contribute meaningfully to the development of our country.
I thank you.
