Unfinished Business

Unfinished Business

TO our former and current Presidents, Ministers and other leaders.

Please allow me to intervene and air my views and concerns about an article dated February 15 on ‘Avid Millions written off’ and to the testament of Nghifitikeko dated February 2007. We as Namibians are not happy and pained to see our leaders reaching themselves while we go hungry.I am shocked to read that the Office of the Auditor General has written off the N$30 million of the SSC as a “bad debt”.Why must it be written off if all people involved are still alive except the late Kandara? Can’t the Anti-Corruption Commission investigate? The President must take serious action against Ministers and high-ranking officials as a matter of urgency because most of them are thieves, selfish, and they must think twice. We have many young generations willing to further their studies but no funds/scholarships.Why is the Anti-Corruption Commission dealing with minor cases and ignoring major cases? We have Namibian citizens that were given loans by the Ministry of Education to study at the local University and Technicon, but are forced to pay back that money and some of them are experiencing problems to do so – either are underpaid by the Government or unemployed. Why doesn’t the Government write their loans off as bad debts like the millions of the SCC? Concerning Nghifitikeko’s letter, he highlighted some valid matters, like Tona construction winning Government tenders. This company belongs to Amadhila, the husband of the Minister of Finance. What about N$3.5 million funds vanished from the Ministry of Defence and former Permanent Secretary Erastus Negonga was implicated? What about the ODC millions and some of the implicated are still heading the Ministry of Trade? What about the business of shares where many officials are shareholders like Dr Ndeutala Angolo, Sacky Shanghala and others? What about money sent to DRC by the former President for the weapons? Who are the shareholders for the diamond mine in DRC? Is it true that former President is earning the same salary as the current president? Can the Anti-Corruption Commission also investigate Aaron Mushimba’s assets since there are allegations stated that he owns The former President’s assets indirectly. We Namibians need feedback as a matter of urgency on all allegations of money pocketed by our leaders. They must pay back.I would like to request opposition parties to fight until the end to ensure that Anti-Corruption investigates all alleged corruption.Concerned, TsumebWe as Namibians are not happy and pained to see our leaders reaching themselves while we go hungry.I am shocked to read that the Office of the Auditor General has written off the N$30 million of the SSC as a “bad debt”.Why must it be written off if all people involved are still alive except the late Kandara?
