UNITED NATIONS – The Security Council has let the United Nations begin spending US$103 million set aside to support elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo, ending a cash crunch for the world’s largest peacekeeping force.

Nearly 30 million Congolese will be eligible to vote in the elections, which are to take place by next June 30 and will be the first in the country since 1965. – Nampa-Reuters- Nampa-Reuters
