Uis tin mine increases production in 2025

The Uis tin mine increased its production of tin concentrate by 15% last year, compared to the previous financial year.

Andrada Mining – the London-listed mining company that owns the mine – on Thursday announced its last quarter and full year results ending in February 2026.

The company runs a tin processing plant at its Uis mine.

Last year, it processed 1.04 million tonnes of tin ore, producing the tin concentrate that can be exported.

“At Uis, the company delivered record operational performance and positive free cash flows, providing a solid foundation for growth and the scaling of production over the coming year,” Andrada’s chief executive Anthony Viljoen says.

Comparing its last quarter’s production to the same time last year, Andrada says its tin concentrate production increased by 20%.

In the last quarter, it produced 453 tonnes of tin concentrate.

Andrada says it has concluded several previously-announced initiatives and partnerships in the last quarter, which will position the company for future growth in Namibia.

“The conclusion of the Brandberg West partnership with Acam provides exposure to a high grade, tungsten mine with associated tin and copper credits.

“This comes at a time of record high prices for tungsten and a strong support for these sustained price levels,” Viljoen says.

The company received a N$1.7-billion investment from its Brandberg West partner to prepare for a feasibility study.

Andrada is also operating at Lithium Ridge, 35km from its Uis mine, where it has confirmed high-grade lithium mineralisation.
