Two men died in suspected cases of suicide at Walvis Bay on Sunday.

In the first case Kennedy Panduleni Shikongo (29) was allegedly complaining of not feeling well psychologically and was taken to his aunt’s house in Tutaleni for emotional support.

After returning from a church service with his aunt at around 15h00, the family later found his lifeless body in one of the bedrooms. He did not leave a suicide note.

The body was transported to the Walvis Bay police mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

The incident occurred between 15h00 and 16h00.

His next of kin were notified and police investigations continue.

On the same day, the body of 50-year-old Elifas Kalula was discovered by his landlord in his room at about 21h40 at Kuisebmond.

No foul play is suspected and no suicide note was found.

The next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.

“As law enforcement officials responding first to a scene of this nature, it remains a concern to us.
We encourage people to seek help and to seek professional help in addition to any other help they seek,” said Erongo police spokesperson inspector Ileni Shapumba.
