Two dead in gruesome Ohangwena accident

THE accident at Omaboolota in Ohangwena region yesterday afternoon has claimed two lives, Namibian Police sergeant Abner Itumba has confirmed to

The horrific three-car accident happened at the T-junction where the road to Omungwelume joins the Omafo-Outapi main road.

The three vehicles involved were a blue Toyota pick-up, transporting school children, a silver BMW and a white Toyota Corolla.

“Only two people died in that accident. An Eengedjlo Senior Secondary School pupil and a hostel supervisor,” said Itumba.

A total of seventeen people sustain injuries, some serious, and have been taken to the Engela State Hospital.

he said indications were that the BMW was speeding and that one of the other cars failed to stop at the T-junction, while the third car was stationary a few metres from the turn-off.

Omaboolota is situated about five kilometres from Omungwelume.
