Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an alleged housebreaking incident at Oshakati mayor Leonard Hango’s house shortly after Christmas.
In an update on Sunday, the police in the Oshana region say the duo was arrested by serious crime detectives who travelled to the Onghumbula area on Sunday, where they arrested one suspect at around 11h40.
The second suspect was arrested at Okaandje village at Ongwediva, also on Sunday, where the police recovered a 9mm CZ pistol, the update says.
Other additional items recovered include one pair of Bova safety boots, one pair of Converse All-Star sneakers, and a Samsung Galaxy Note Lite.
Police investigations continue.
