Tungeni revamps Von Bach resort

DEVELOPMENT, regeneration and investment in Namibia and its regions continue to be the basis for Tungeni Investment’s vision, mission and success, the company says.

The present developments at the Von Bach Dam and coastal resorts like Mile 72, Mile 108, and Jakkalsputz, which are under the company’s lease contract from Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), are on schedule. Tungeni is investing over N$15 million in renovations at the Von Bach Dam alone, the company said in an extensive press statement. ‘This investment and further developments underline the commitment that Tungeni made to NWR and the people of Namibia to help develop recreation facilities,’ according to the statement. ‘Tungeni hasn’t just taken over and renovated the present sites, it has done so by taking the cultural, local and ecological sensitivities into account. This has created considerable additional expense for Tungeni, but the belief and the demand for sustainable developments, make this a very justifiable investment,’ the company said. ‘From improving and upgrading the facilities such as the existing bungalows, shop, toilets, showers, and employee’s quarters to commissioning an environmental impact study of the Von Bach Dam, ensuring that it is preserved and enjoyed for many years to come.’ The existing bungalows are being upgraded and outside the Von Bach Dam catchment area a new village and wellness centre, called Oujere Lifestyle Village, will be created, with Tungeni investing over N$400 million in this development. This project outside the basin area will allow the visitors all the benefits that the beautiful area has to offer. Visitors and guests will be able to enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, hiking, sundowners and other tourism activities. Tungeni has also won the hunting concession in the Von Bach Nature Reserve for the next five years. Through this growth and support of Namibia’s tourism section, Tungeni hopes that income will flow into the Okahandja area and generate short- and long-term employment, which is critical to stimulating the Namibian economy, especially in economically underdeveloped areas of Namibia, like Okahandja. Tungeni is a Namibian company that offers a fully benchmarked property development solution and leisure experience in Namibia and also has interest in a number of projects within the SADC region.
