Tsumeb sounds alarm on water shortages

The Tsumeb municipality on Sunday issued an alert about a water shortage due to a power outage.

The notice states that residents of Extension seven, particularly the area from 17th Road upwards to Kudu Street, will experience water shortages during the night and early morning hours.

“This interruption is due to a power outage affecting the line from the concrete tower to the steel tower, which was reported to the Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (Cenored) at approximately 21h00 this evening. Unfortunately, Cenored will only be able to attend to the issue Monday morning,” reads the notice.

Residents have been advised to store sufficient water for use until the power supply is restored and the system stabilises.

“The municipality apologises for the inconvenience and appreciates your understanding,” says the notice.
