Tribute To Munyuki

YOUR untimely departure has left us totally numb.

I remember the good and the hard times we faced so often together, whether it was on a professional level or in our personal lives. You always found a way to ease the situation and together we would go through those trials and tribulations and in the end we would celebrate our little victories. For those of us who had the privilege to get to know a fine gentleman like you Cde Farayi, your voice may now seem silent, but the seeds that you have planted here and in the rest of the region will grow for the entire SADC to reap its fruits.I remember the pain in your voice last week when you were lamenting the economic meltdown in your motherland. When you spoke out against the daily enslavement of your countrymen due to the current situation. And this is exactly when we miss you the most as this is the period most of us would have liked to look up to you for an in-depth analysis and answers as to just what is going on.And in your own unique way you would have been able to explain, awaken, name and shame those pretending that all is well in your motherland. You were a selfless cadre, whose humanity towards others was not simply selective. Our reporters in the newsroom can no longer call on you for professional guidance. You will be sorely missed.May your soul rest in eternal peace!
