Trees And Billboards

Trees And Billboards

MANY thanks for the work your staff did regarding coverage on the chopping down of trees near the truckport.

I was interested to hear the rationalisation from those involved. Of course, if it was necessary to chop them down for airport reasons then there was no option. It is curious to me, though, that they did not have to take down the lampposts along the road as they are far higher than the trees ever were, and also that only the trees that obscured billboards were affected, sometimes only certain branches of individual trees in fact. So, while I would like to believe that the airport was not just a convenient excuse, I must confess to some small degree of cynicism in this regard.Coleen Mannheimer Via e-mailOf course, if it was necessary to chop them down for airport reasons then there was no option. It is curious to me, though, that they did not have to take down the lampposts along the road as they are far higher than the trees ever were, and also that only the trees that obscured billboards were affected, sometimes only certain branches of individual trees in fact. So, while I would like to believe that the airport was not just a convenient excuse, I must confess to some small degree of cynicism in this regard.Coleen Mannheimer Via e-mail
