AIR Namibia’s board chairperson, Dee Sauls-Deckenbrock, and her deputy, Nangula Kauluma, resigned from their respective positions on Thursday.
In a media statement issued on Friday afternoon, Air Namibia announced the resignations, saying it took effect from the close of business on Thursday.
The airline’s company secretary, Ingrid Cupido, also said the resignations were due to a combination of personal reasons and “significantly increased responsibilities in their respective professional roles”. Sauls-Deckenbrock and Kauluma have indicated that because of this they are no longer able to make the time required to fulfil their duties as directors available to the airline, Cupido said.
Sauls-Deckenbrock is a practising lawyer with her own law firm. Kauluma is employed in an executive position at FNB Namibia.
They were both appointed as members of the Air Namibia board of directors for a three-year term with effect from the start of this year.
